My goal is to slim down and tone. My diet is on track but I want to work out properly too.
Mainly, I have been using a rowing machine and running (although I have also been doing some weight training and stretching). Which exercise should I put more focus on?
I want to add that I’ve read/heard using a rowing machine is a good cardio/strength training exercise. That is why I’m wonder if I should possibley put more focus on rowing.
I am so limited time that I work out 5-7 days a week and any moment in the day I can. Usually adds up to a 30 min solid work out of running or rowing then stretching and strength training throughout free time in the day- maybe an additional 10 - 20 min a day.
I have been losing weight, gradually - that’s fine with me - but if I can do better with the little time I have, I would like to.

strength training at least 20 minutes twice a week will make a huge difference!

Runing is good. You should focus on aerobics, something that burns lots of calories. You should also do some weight lifting, even if it is light. This will ensure that you keep the weight off once you get off the diet because building muscle will keep your metabolism high.

To lose weight you need to focus on cardio, so your running is perfect for that and to tone up you need to do strength training. I would run every other day and strength train on the days you don’t run. That way you will have a good balance and you will be working different muscles each day.

Compound Exercises are best….meaning that they involve more than one joint/group of muscles at a time
and example of this would be a Squat as opposed to a leg extension
other ones might be
Deadlift
Chin/pull up….much better than a pull down no matter how you do it
Shoulder press
Bench press/push up
good luck

Try yoga or pilates, if you are going for a leaner and tone body.

I would recommend doing some yoga and polities. It helps me and also you’ll feel more relaxed after you do it.

Go to do some dance classes.. I lost weight dramatically when i started to go dancing. I went and did hip hop and jazz classes. They are an all over body workout - you get to stretch - and its alot of fun!!
