I’m only 11, I’m 5′3, and I weigh 108 pounds. I feel fat and after I bug my friends, they finally say that they think I need to lose like 10-20 pounds. I wanna lose this before the beginning of summer so I can wear a two piece bathing sute. How can I lose the weight in a healthy and safe way?

Be conscious of what you eat and when you eat.

I’m sure you’re perfectly fine though, but good luck regardless. :D

All you have to do is excercise and eat healthy. Just go on google.com and find a website that has the Canadian Food Nutrition Guide on it, follow the serving sizes, exercise regularly and voila! Slim as a Stick. :D

your weight is fine but i’m glad you want to lose weight the healthy way.
you should eat 4-5 small meals a day, mainly healthy. make sure you eat your protein and fiber. you need very little of sugar and fats. most food has sodium in it so you will probably get the recommended dosage of sodium a day (2000mg).
you’re young so you shouldn’t over do the exercising. you play sports in school do as much as you can in the time you have PE/gym. go walking after school for half an hour a day. but have a day to rest.
    drink plenty of water.

i’d say if you drink soda.. you should stop b/c that helps and drink water instead
also things high in fiber is good.. like celey i know
and healthy snacks are good like fruit, veggies, yogurt

but i really don’t think your friends should b saying things like that

Well, I will be 11 in a few weeks, and I weigh 90 pounds. Last year, I hated my fat on my stomach, so like in the summer, everyday I went nonstop running in the morning, got plenty of excercise, and didn’t eat a whole bunch of junk food. And man- I lost soooooooo much fat on my stomach! but it was really weird because I weigh the same as I did last year before summer.

OH, and I also did a WHOLE bunch of push ups, situps, and pull ups. I was really excited, because last year, I kept trying to do a pull up, and finally, I can do one!
    YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

    GOOD LUCK!! :)
    PEACE

Eat less, exercise more. Understand that it’s probably going to take at least 2-4 months to lose that weight if you are dedicated.

You need to calculate your BMI or body mass index. This is a reliable indication of healthy body mass (combination of muscle, fat, bone etc) and indicator of future health problems. I calculated your BMI, and it came out to 19.1, which is underweight. A healthy BMI is between 20-25. Being underweight can be just as dangerous as being overweight, esp as you are so young, and your major growth will be coming in the next few years. Now is when you are laying down the base needed for a healthy adult life. If you are not feeding your body adequately, you could potentially seriously damage your bones and organs due to lack of the basic building blocks needed to grow (vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbs and fats). Please aim to be healthy, and not just skinny for the sake of being like your friends and idols.

At 11 years old your body is a calorie burning machine!

    -Drink lots of water.
-Make sure you get plenty of skim milk for those growing bones and the protein for your muscles.
-For breakfast, you need to be eating some kind of fruit (not fruit juice) and weight control oatmeal. It’s delicious and it has protein to help keep you full until lunch.
-For lunch, eat a salad! That means fat free dressing, reduced fat or fat free cheese (if any) and only a little bit of it. You want some protein on your salad (grilled chicken is great!) If chicken isn’t available, boiled egg on salad is delicious too.
-For dinner you want to eat a lean meat or poultry. You shouldn’t be eating a piece of meat that is any bigger than your palm. You should also have lots of vegetables. A side salad with dinner would be great or some fruit.
-Don’t forget the snacks! In between lunch and dinner have a small snack (fruit and yogurt is great!) You should also have another snack (either in between breakfast and lunch or after dinner).

One thing that is important to remember with snacks - it should be more than one type of food. Like a fruit with a dairy item. Or veggies with a protein. It helps you from getting hungry later.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Good luck! At 5′3″ and 108 lbs YOU ARE NOT FAT! Don’t worry girl - you’ll look great in a 2 piece this summer.
